Hydration XXV

Matcha Latte (抹茶ラテ)


A creamy and slightly sweet Japanese green tea latte. 🍵✨


Ingredients:

 • 1 tsp matcha powder (抹茶パウダー, matcha paudā)
 • 2 tsp hot water (お湯, oyu)
 • 1 cup milk (or soy/almond milk) (牛乳, gyūnyū)
 • 1 tsp honey or sugar (蜂蜜 / 砂糖, hachimitsu / satō)
 • Ice (optional) (氷, kōri)


Instructions:

 1. Sift the matcha into a cup to remove clumps.
 2. Add hot water and whisk with a matcha whisk (chasen) or a small whisk until smooth and frothy.
 3. Heat the milk (or use cold milk for an iced version) and mix in honey or sugar.
 4. Pour the milk into the matcha mixture, stirring gently.
 5. (Optional) Add ice if making an iced matcha latte.
